softened

whole milk

semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time.
Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
Add the dry ingredients in parts, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then move the cake to a wire rack to cool fully.
Notes
You can add extra chocolate chips on top before baking for more texture.
