This chocolate chip pound cake is rich and moist. You mix butter, sugar, eggs, dry ingredients, and milk, then fold in chocolate chips for a simple loaf.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  • Add the dry ingredients in parts, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 60 to 70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then move the cake to a wire rack to cool fully.

Notes

You can add extra chocolate chips on top before baking for more texture.
