Snickerdoodle Bars

These snickerdoodle bars are soft and chewy with a cinnamon sugar topping. You mix a simple dough, press it into a pan, add the topping, and bake.

Ingredients
  

Bars

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 ⅔ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt

Topping

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix the melted butter and sugar until blended.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time. Add the vanilla extract.
  • Whisk the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Spread the batter into the pan.
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle it over the batter.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool fully before lifting out and slicing.

Notes

You can cut the bars into small or large pieces based on your needs.
